NEW HISPANIC MINISTRY, NEW TEAM MEMBER - OCTOBER NEWSLETTER

Welcome to our October Newsletter

Greetings and blessings to all friends of the Hispanic Initiative! Below we share this month’s news. God is doing exciting things and we are very happy for you to be part of them..

HISPANIC CONGREGATION IN NEW LOCATION

Last year we shared at True Life Church in Lexington, Ky. God planted a desire in this church to see a Spanish ministry in their building. Not long after, we were invited to share at Rio de Vida in Paris, Ky. They were meeting in the gym of a church outside of town and were bursting at the seams. They were looking for another church building nearer the large community of Hispanics in Lexington. Some of their members were driving 45 minutes from Lex to go to church. The Hispanic Initiative was able to connect Pastor Ernesto Martinez (Rio de Vida) with Pastor Anthony from True Life.

True Life Church in Lexington (pastor Anthony and his ife on the left) is now sharing the building with the hispanic ministry Rio Life Church (pastor Ernesto and his wife on the right)

We are happy to announce that after guidance from the Hispanic Initiative, on October 6, Río de Vida moved to True Life Church facilities with the “Sharing the Building” model. To appeal to a broader audience, they changed their name to “Rio Life Church.” The HI is coming alongside to help with branding and marketing strategies to help them connect with even more people.

Rio Life Church is already meeting in the True Life's building.

NEW HISPANIC CONGREGATION IN HOPKINSVILLE, KY

At the beginning of the year, we met with Pastor Don Marsh, in Hopkinsville, Ky. We drove around the town, and there were no Evangelical ministries, but a Catholic ministry with about 250 Hispanic congregants. Westview AG, Pastor Don, and the Hispanic Initiative began to lift this town up in prayer, desiring to see an Evangelical Hispanic Ministry. Unknown to us, a Hispanic pastor from Tennessee had started driving to Hopkinsville, meeting at a house with a small group of people about a year ago.

Early in the year, Fabian met with pastor Don Marsh and pastor Cristobal. Now they are sharing Westview AG’s building to maximize Kingdom’s resources

A few months ago, this pastor had begun to approach pentecostal churches in Hopkinsville, looking for a place to start a church, since the house could no longer hold the group. This was an answer to prayer! We are excited to announce that Westview AG is now sharing the building with their Hispanic brothers and a new ministry is strengthened and encouraged in Hopkinsville. Thank you for your support and prayers. As we have been sowing the seed, God has been watering and giving the increase!

SPANISH MINISTRY SCHOOL

ESCUELA MINISTERIAL DE KENTUCKY

Over the summer, we’ve been working with KSOM (KY School of Ministry) to translate their curriculum into Spanish, opening new doors for the Hispanic community to study and prepare themselves for ministry! We also created a video to promote the new Spanish school, Escuela Ministerial de Kentucky. We believe this will help raise a generation of Hispanic ministers ready to launch into the Harvest Field!

PLEASE PRAY FOR US:

• Unity amidst Hispanic Churches and leaders

• For the Radio Latido station team to walk in unity and to be sensitive to the Holy Spirit to receive creative inspiration.

• For the new hispanic ministry in Hopkinsville, KY

• For Rio Life Church to reach many more people as they move into their new location
